Oracle and Simba Technologies jointly announced October 12, 2009 the introduction of Simba's MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP data connectivity product that enables direct Microsoft Excel connectivity to Oracle Database 11g OLAP Option. For organizations that rely on spreadsheets for business analysis, this is big news. Previously, no method existed to directly connect the two products. Simba's MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP is an easy to install, client-side driver that enables end-users to query, display and navigate Oracle OLAP data directly from within Excel spreadsheets.
